In anticipation for Saturday’s Sorted 2 Year Anniversary, we thought we’d put together some music from the lineup to get you through the rest of the work week and prepped up for the rave! Happy listening!
Given Terry Donovan’s pedigree as a long-time resident with Birmingham (UK)’s infamous House of God parties alongside Surgeon & Regis, we’re still pinching ourselves that Terry is also a resident for Sorted! Terry has been part of the rave scene since the late 80s and is driven by an all-consuming passion for the music. Although he now lives in Boulder, Terry still gigs in Europe & Asia from time to time and even played the main room at Berghain this last spring (and on Sunday afternoon too, we might add!). Terry is a master dj that can play to crowds of all sizes at all hours, an expert at reading the crowd and understanding how his music fits with the vibe! For the anniversary party Terry will be opening, applying his expertise at practical dancefloor population techniques. Please check out this 3+ hour mix from when he opened for Rrose at Nocturnal in Denver!
Acre is the one artist on our lineup that has not yet been to Colorado and we are unbelievably thrilled that he wanted to make the long journey to play for us and make his Sorted debut! Acre is a member of Manchester’s Project13 crew and one of the UK’s most distinctive producers pushing forwards sounds mixed in Grime, Jungle and Techno, tying each together in a mutation of vantablack futuristic sounds. Make no mistake – this is quite possibly the most highly-anticipated set we’ve been looking forward to in all of 2017! Enjoy his latest NTS Radio Show full of experimental and left-field gems and note that we are particularly fond of Acre’s release on one of our favorite labels, Wisdom Teeth.
It’s no secret that Hodge is a Sorted favorite. His set at Sorted 3 was amazing, forward thinking and even after 2 hours, still left us all wanting more, so we are more than happy to welcome him back to celebrate our anniversary! Hodge makes techno infused with the bass weight of the dubstep days, a sound that’s as suited to Tempa as it is Livity; he is the type of producer who puts out dark and banging techno on Berceuse Heroique, before delivering a glittering, mostly ambient record for No Corner a few months later. Hodge is a master of tension and release, and to top it all off, he is a beautiful human being and really nice guy! Each of his records are quite different, but all are essential listening. We are certain to hear some of our favorite tunes mixed with new dubs we haven’t yet heard and are so ready for this guy’s energy! Although the Hodge RA mix is certain to become timeless, we are really digging this recent mix he did for the Benji B show!

OK, let’s be blunt: Peverelist, alongside Kowton, were the artists that inspired us to start Sorted. We had only initially planned to throw the single party, but because it was such a fulfilling & fun experience, and TBH, a dream come true, Sorted continued on forging a path for what has been an incredible two years. Because of that, it only made sense to have the guy that started it all for us come back to deliver a second set in celebration! It is an honor to host this amazing DJ, Bristol facilitator & innovator, and last but not least, a true friend. Check out Pev’s latest NTS Radio show featuring two hours of music from artists like Ploy, Simo Cell, Forest Drive West, Hodge, Kowton, Parris and more and then enjoy his recent full-length album Tesselations, released on the best label in existence, Livity Sound!
